Summer year-round, warm water throughout and a fantastic & unique marine world – what conditions could be better for diving?
Whether you’re a seasoned diver or want to get started, Bali is the perfect place to do so. Besides that a trip to the island is already a fantastic experience in itself, you’ll be surprised about the diverse underwater world – from countless colourful fishes over rays and harmless sharks to mesmerizing corals. As Bali is just about 8 degrees south of the equator you can expect everywhere around the island warm water temperatures, speaking you acclimatize easily to your first dive. Moreover, the reefs are quite shallow (currents are almost none-existent), which again makes it easier when you dive for the very first time.
Another plus is the possible exploration of the torpedoed U.S. Liberty which sits off the coast of Tulamben as it doesn’t require a deep dive or any specific experience. Oh and don’t forget the actual underwater creatures and beautiful marine life here, such as the Great Barracuda, Napoleon Wrasse, mantas or the rare Mola-Mola that periodically frequents Bali.
Now you may think that you’re not having enough time to get licensed as diver – the good news are that you don’t need more than four full days to complete a PADI Open Water Diver course which you can then use anywhere else in the world.
